Chaos And Looting in LA Amid The Coronavirus Covid-19 Pandemic

What happened to the United States? Do we expect another surge of coronavirus positive because of these people? Hope not! Hope no one among them is positive

Amid the Coronavirus Covid-19 Pandemic, violence erupted at the heart of Los Angeles, California which started on Saturday afternoon over the death of George Floyd.

As the riots continue, big brand stores at the Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California such as Gucci, Prada, Dior, Rolex and Louis Vuitton immediately covered their stores with boards to prevent looters from smashing the front glass doors and windows but looters were still able to inflict severe damages to these designer brand stores like Gucci and Alexander McQueen.

Marc Jacobs store at the Melrose ave. was also shattered but no merchandise was on display. Other designer brand stores that were looted according to CBS news include Nordstrom department store at the Grove shopping center, the Apple store at the Grove and Ray-Ban store.

The Grove and Beverly Hills areas which are the tourist destinations and are the home to the high-end designer brands and signature products were the center of the riots and looting spree. Stores were ransacked. Riots broke-up and chaos was around town and you can see the Los Angeles city is burning up until this moment.

The chaos was uncontrolled so the governor sought help from the National Guard. Around 500 of them will be dispersed to Los Angeles to finally put back the city into place and continue observing safety procedures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

These businesses were already hurt from 2 months of lockdown as a result to the Stay-At-Home order due to the covid-19 outbreak. But as the store owners are getting ready to stand-up and do business again, this horrific violence happened that pinned them down deeper into the ground.

Today is the second day of protest in California which started in Downtown Los Angeles yesterday. Protesters destroyed establishments.

A closer look at the downtown LA Starbucks were demonstrators smashed glass walls and threw stones at the store.

A curfew was mandated in Los Angeles from 8pm – 5:30am but after the 8:00pm hours, protesters were still on the streets.
